5 little things

I've been tagged by the lovely Gabbi of Felinofelice to share 5 things that make me happy.
So I thought I'd use this tag as a chance to brush up on my digital drawing - which I was encouraged to do after my attempt at plain pencil and paper drawings (btw, huge THANKS to everyone for the wonderful comments on that post).
I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator ages ago, and assumed that revisiting the software would be like riding a bike - and how wrong was I.... it was HARD! But I guess having too much spare time has its perks, because I eventually finished these illustrations for my 5 things (whatcha think?).

OK, so the 5 little things that make me happy:
1. Reaching the end of a book. Preferably a good one. I don't read books as much as I'd like to, so it's really satisfying when I manage to finish one.
2. Red balloons. You can probably tell from past posts and polaroids. Plus, I just watched the 1954 French short, The Red Balloon, and absolutely loved it! I'm going to watch the newer version, the Flight of the Red Balloon, this week (just borrowed the DVD).
3. I like a good cup of tea. About to have one right now.
4. When photos turn out better than expected.
5. Cute and quirky songs are nice. This is my latest favourite:

I love your 5 things and the illustrations you made! Really like the fabric details... wonderful idea. I also need to find 'The Red Balloon'. Didn't know there was a newer version. High definition maybe?

Thank you for sharing and hope you're having a nice Thursday.♥

Wonderful list. But reaching the end of a good book makes me sad--then I have to try to find a new one!

Lovely illustrations! I had to learn how to use illustrator for a design class, but I could never figure out how to make anything so pretty.

I've seen finishing a book as a thing that makes people happy in tags on a couple of other blogs, too. I guess I'm alone in finding finishing a good book rather sad...

red balloons make me smile too :)

my mom and I used to have a New Year's Eve tradition of tying a list of our wishes to a red balloon. we'd then release them into the night sky, hoping they'd come true.

They turned out great. I may just try my hand at Illustrator one day.

Your things that make you happy are cute... I love reading this tag every time :)

I understand about the adobe issues... I worked with Adobe for years, then (was forced to) take a brake for about 2 years, and when I got it again last year, it scared the life out of me!! haha... don't worry though, you'll get comfortable and have an easier time :)

I love reaching the end of a book, especially if it is an Agatha Christie novel, I always need to know who the murder is lol. Tea... yummm love it, especially green tea. lol I imagine you liked balloons since the last post you had a picture of a really cool one! I love that musical note you made there! :)
Sincerely Louie, Ciao!

Anna! Your illustrations are adorable! Great job with them. I had to use Illustrator for a Cartography course and it can get pretty tricky at times.

I like your list of things that make you happy. I often find the end of a good book bittersweet, though. I enjoy a good ending, but it's sad to say goodbye.

Cute song and even cuter video!
