I like the makeover! The font doesn't seem too pale to me. What a drag that you lost your blogroll. I'm sure you'll be able to fill it back up fast :)

Also, the font colour is OK, but making it a shade or two darker wouldn't hurt. But that's just my personal opinion. I'll still be visiting your blog regardless of font colour :)
