language is no barrier

My local library had a sale today, and sure enough I treated myself to a stack of cheap books! Amongst the books I got was this Korean (?) one. Now, unfortunately I have no idea how to read Korean, but I had to get it ... simply because it was filled with the most wonderful pictures! Probably 80% of the book is either photos or illustrations, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on TOO much.

(I love the white doodles on the cover)

The only words I can read is "Live By Oneself" on the cover, and a web address: hongsiya.com - which seems to be the site of the girl who is featured in the book, and who did the illustrations. If there's anyone out there who can read Korean or knows anything about this book (seems like it's part of a series), do let me know!

Here are just a few of my favourite pages. There's quite a number of photos where she's doing something creative and artistic -things like painting, making a plush bunny or playing the ukulele; stuff that I wish I knew how to do too! That, and understanding Korean of course.

That is so cool, great find!
Not understanding it can be an advantage too, now you get to fantasize without reading the writers ideas.

What a great find! Makes me want to branch out in my book list. This post makes me happy because I think it's a nice thought -- that beautiful images are universal.
