taking out the polaroid

batik dress: gift from mum (Indonesia)

I just used up the last Polaroid film in my camera (above). I still have one final film pack that I have yet to open. Despite the news that Polaroid films are coming back, I'm still so careful with each shot I take. It's ironic that years ago Polaroid was meant to be all about taking quick and spontaneous photos, yet these days each shot seems so precious that I can't press the button before putting in a lot of time and thought into it.

What is the go with Polaroids?
My older sister used to have a camera & we had so much fun snapping photos of everything.
Is it true a new company is keeping them alive?
I really want to buy one. Surely there is still a market for them, nostalgia always sells.
Why did production shut down the first place?
I'm going to get to the bottom of this!

Your picture is lovely btw, just like your blog :)

I love polaroids, I wish that I could take a decent photo though.
The package from your shop arrived this morning, thanks so much. I love the buttons and have already sent off one of the postcards.

You have such a cute blog. I love visiting it :)
I really really really want a polaroid camera. I have pictures of me from kindergarten and earlier from a polaroid, and I want more. But everytime I find one in a store, it's either too expensive or broken. But I'm not giving up!

So stunning Anna - I should have asked for some for Christmas as I can't afford any at this point and time anyway. So precious, so are you. these photos are little gems.

There's something about polaroids. A notalgic feel which I adore.
I love your dress! & the pola is wonderful!

Hey lovely.

I work in a second-hand camera repair shop so I feel your pain regarding Polaroid film, we're down to our last five packs! I used the SX-70 at my sister's wedding, it was brilliant!

Loved your pictures, you've got a great eye for a photo!

Lovely dress, and what a neat photo! I have a Polaroid camera that I've never used before... I think I'm just too cheap to buy film for it because I have no idea if it works! :) Maybe I'll overcome that one day!

Gorgeous photos Anna, I have such a weakness for polaroids.

Gorgeous post dear!

Of course, I would love to exchange banners....but as you might have guessed already I don't really have a proper one.
I would be so thankful if you could help me making one, because I am so bad at those things...

Have an amazing NEW year, dear!

I know exactly how you feel. When I picked up my Polaroid camera at a yard sale this past summer I was extra careful composing my photos (especially since I didn't know how much film was left in the camera). I keep meaning to buy a few more packs on Amazon. I think that's what I'll spend a bit of my Christmas money on :) Sweet photo. Those lights must be so pretty to walk under.

That is a funny observation about the thwarted spontaneity of the Polaroid these days. So true.

I love your dress!

I miss my old Polaroid camera. I used it all the time when I was younger! I also had one of those tiny sticker polaroid cameras! I'm sure I still have it somewhere, but I doubt it works anymore!

Your dress is lovely. It's nice to treasure film, even if it is coming back. Because then you wait for that "moment." :)

Lovely photograph and dress Anna... though it is sad that Polaroids have become so rare it's great that some artists and photographers, like you, still share and follow your passion for the media.

I love the print of your dress! Your thoughts on polaroid are definitely really interesting. I suppose the film shortage does change how we use it.

I remember having a big old boxy Polaroid camera growing up and loving it so much.It seemed so magical, the idea that I could have my pics right then.

I love your dress too by the way:)
