film photography friday

shooting with film (part 3: random)*
*see also: part 1 and part 2

Just some more photos I took with my OM-10 ages ago.

My brother just came back from Indonesia and Singapore, bearing gifts for me and my film photography love. First off, he got me a bunch of new film rolls (they're cheaper there) - so I can finally start taking LOTS of photos again - yay! And he also got me a new toy:

It's a wide lens camera by SuperHeadz (anyone familiar with this?). Good thing is, it takes the usual 35mm film. I've been testing it out already, and fingers crossed that the results will turn out okay. From what I've seen online, it should be pretty interesting - So excited! I love my big brother! At my request, he also brought back some of our childhood photos from home. I love looking at old photos, don't you? I've seen other bloggers share their nostalgic photos lately, and I can't help but join in! These were taken with the exact same camera as the photos above (my parents' Olympus OM-10), so it still fits in with today's "film photography friday" theme, right?

This one never fails to crack us up. I'm looking extremely unimpressed for some reason. "Where's my KFC?"

Looking very impressed by balloons though. Who wouldn't be?

There. Embarrassing childhood photos: done.

cocoon

Meet my new favourite music group: Cocoon. I saw them last night at the So Frenchy So Chic gig, many thanks to a lucky lady who won some free tix.

Cocoon is French folk-pop duo Morgane and Mark (as opposed to "Pierre", which was what I decided to refer to him as - because it was the first French name that comes to mind. Teehee, excusez-moi!). I didn't know much about them before (obviously, seeing I didn't even know their names), but I had a good feeling as soon as I saw a ukulele on stage and then hearing them introduce songs with things-I-love names like "Sushi" and "Owls" (animals seem to be an ongoing theme in their music and videos). Sure enough, their catchy melodies, fun attitude, and sweet accent had me hooked. It doesn't hurt that she's utterly adorable and he's good looking too. Oui!
Here's a couple of their quirky-cute music videos. See what you think:

Heart by Ban.do, photographed by Chloe Aftel. I have posted her previous work for Ban.do before, so it's great to see these new photographs she's done for the label.

In other news, the winner of the City Lights giveaway is... Mausumi. Congratulations! I'll be in touch with you shortly to get your details :)

This week, Diana has kindly agreed to host a Much Love giveaway on her fantastic blog (yes, we seem to be swapping host-sponsor roles)! Go over there to enter, and get a 10% discount code too.

much love monday: polaroids in the mail

I had no idea what to post for this week's Much Love Monday. I couldn't think of anything happy or cheerful enough to share, and I guess Mondayitis was starting to get to me ... that is, until I opened my mailbox, and found the answer to my problem right in front of me! I received this adorable surprise, which couldn't have come at a better time (or day):

You know how I love mail? and polaroids? and hot air balloons? Well if you do, you can imagine how happy I was to receive this cute note and polaroids from Melanie (youaremyfave). It's a part of a 6 month polaroid subscription (!!) that I won on rockstars diaries a little while ago. Aren't they beautiful?

You can see more of Melanie's photos in her flickr.

How is your week starting off? Whatever you do, steer clear from Mondayitis!

floaty lace

I've been crazy for lace these days. Thrifted a bunch of them, wearing, crafting and creating things with them. Playing around with lace images too, resulting in these:

All photos and illustration are by me. More ideas and projects under way.

P.S. Don't forget to enter the City Lights giveaway - ending soon!

film photography friday

I thought I'd start another weekly themed post. Expect more film photography every Friday.

Polaroids by Lina Scheynius. I like the dark moody feel of these.

discount offer (help me reach 200 sales)

I made these pastel-coloured pendants, with some help from my brother who did the original drawings. I'm selling these pendants in my Etsy shop. They're cute and cheap - and would make adorable necklaces, or sweet ornaments for the house. Just saying ;)

In more shop news, I'm trying to reach 200 sales (at the moment, I'm 4 sales away!). So in an attempt to reach this goal, every item sold before the 200th sale will get a 25% discount. But if you read this blog, just mention the code "blog reader" during checkout, and I'll make it 35%. The 200th item sold will be half-price. All discounts will be refunded via Paypal.

*shameless self-promotion over*

lazy days give me too much time to think

I've just recently stumbled upon the beautiful photography work of Annabel Mehran. These photos remind me of those days when you spend hours daydreaming endlessly. Even more blissful when it involves immersing yourself in maps and books, and being surrounded by pretty floral wallpaper!
