Gorgeous Walls {or How to Avoid Painting} (guest post by Emma)

This is a guest post by the always sweet and talented Emma.

I've lived years (and years) in rented housing and I know how drab and beige the walls can be!
On a related note, I hate to paint.

All that to say, I don't tend to paint my walls knowing that, upon moving out, I have to paint them back. So for all you fellow renters (or homeowners who hate to paint too) I thought I'd share my recent discovery - vinyl wall stickers!
They're easy to put up, look lovely and don't ruin the wall when you peel them off. They come in varying designs, colors and prices (although any price is preferable to painting! Aargh!).

There are literally over 800 pages of options on Etsy, but here are some of my favorites to start you off:

  4. I was always in love with decals, but then again, I think my wall is pretty crowded with all the racks and furniture and diapers and books... it leave no space for pretty decals...

  5. I'm such a fan of Vinyl wall stickers !!!

Have to say I discovered them quite recently too...last year and I love them !

I can't wait to get my own house to go crazy on the decoration ! :p lol

They are so practical ! It can change the atmosphere of a room instantly ! There are so many fab sticker designs out there :)

If you're not decided yet on the colour to paint your room, no need to rack your mind to find which colour will go with which if you're renovating. A simple layer of paint and the stickers will do the rest :D

Thank you so much for sharing Emma ;)

  8. I bought a Victorian style coat and hat rack sillouette wall decal for my narrow hallway. I added hooks to the racks to give the impression it's a real coat rack... everyone comments on how unusual it is, and it was only about £15 from eBay with free shipping!

  17. I don't have any vinyl wall stickers, but I'm such a sucker for them. I always have to stop and read a post about them, or look at every Etsy shop that selles them.

  20. Love this. I actually like painting, but usually end up picking colors that I tire of quickly (orangs is NOT a good bathroom color, btw).

  22. Wall decals are just the BEST. I love the trees - what an easy way to add some colour and life to your walls without having to a) drag out the paintbrush or b) bang in some nails to hang up some art.
    Love it, absolutely love it.
