get up and go

Photography by Moriah Freed.

I've been having one of those restless feelings of wanting to go away somewhere, anywhere, just for the sake of being in another place. Possibly due to the fact that I had to decline a friend's invitation to go away to Brisbane this week. All it did was make me miss all my old friends there (I used to live in Brisbane during Uni a few years ago) more than ever, and wishing that I could be there right now. Or at least somewhere else exciting enough to justify my decision to not go and take my mind off things.

So, here's a question:
If you could revisit any place right now, where do you want to go?
(note the word REvisit!)

  3. Launceston, Tasmania. I love the cute houses near the city and swimming in the freezing cold gorge on a sunny day, when I was little with my cousins...

  5. mmm, for me, i would say new zealand. i want to be driving on the roads, admiring the scenery, dreaming that any moment a Lord of the Rings battle would break out right in front my eyes.

  7. I'd have to second Paris. Oh, to be sitting outside at a dreamy cafe with a glass of wine, not knowing where the night was headed. I love Paris, and it's been too long since I've visited!

  13. Lovely pictures! Well, the place that I'd love to revisit is California because my fiance lives there, hehe, but given the fact that I'll be moving there before the end of the year, I'll choose England. It's the only place in the world where I felt that I could fit in, you know. I went alone when I was 15, that was my very first long trip alone and never felt lonely, scared ... all the feelings and experiences were absolutely positive! Plus, I love the way the British speak!

Don't regret your decision, Anna! I'm sure you reached it based on smart thiking. Oh, and if you've never been to Buenos Aires, I highly recommend it! Seriously =).

    Cheers!

    Miki.

  14. The Breede River in South Africa. I once spent a few days in a cottage there. It was the only house for miles. At night we would lay by the riverside and look at the stars.

  15. oh my gosh i have quite a long list for this! as much as i want to go see other places around the world, there are also other places that i want to revisit including paris, barcelona and new york.

but more than anything i'd also love to go to rotterdam, i spent 3 yrs living there for uni and as small city as it is which i think could be quite boring (no offence if anyone reading this is from rotterdam!), i've had a great time when i was there too.

  16. If it's just to visit, I'd have to see Miami, Florida. Spent so much time there when I was younger and I miss it like crazy!
Though, what I really want is to move back home (Canada) and be with my family! Living abroad is a very experience but after so long, it gets tiring to miss everybody and everything!

  29. Hrmm... I would most likely go to England or Paris. I dream to photograph the buildings of Paris, and the Eiffel tower (obviously). England has such beautiful scenery. I'd like to go there to paint... Even though I have no painting capability. But wouldn't it be lovely to go to England, to paint? Ahh. I babble.

  32. Back home to Canby, Oregon.

I miss the tall trees, the color and the spirit of the town. Where I am now is dead in comparison.

This post really got me thinking about my definition of home, so I thank you for that. I desperately want to be somewhere, to go away and to just be for a while.

    You're wonderful.

  34. Oooh! I am in love with the first photo--and it makes me want to get some high tops. :)

Oh darling, yes! I have been longing to travel as well. But to places I've never been--Europe to be precise. But a place to revisit would be Destin, Florida--the beaches were beautiful!
