stripes and scallops

vintage dress, old Coo Ca Choo coat with scalloped edges, Rubi shoes, thrifted tights and bag

I very rarely wear skirts or dresses that are much shorter than knee-length, mainly because I don't think I have the legs to pull them off. Nevertheless, there are occasions when I break my own rules. This is one of my favourite vintage dresses, so much so that this isn't the first time I've done an outfit post with it. It's hard to go wrong with classic navy stripes, and I'm pretty comfortable wearing short dresses if I pair it with tights (don't know where the logic in that is, as I know colourful tights would only draw more attention to the legs). Inspired by my previous posts on 1960's Twiggy, groovy pink tights were the choice of the day.

Also, I think that's the first time I've used the word groovy in a blog post. Far out.

I think that dress is super cute and I don't know what your complaining about, your legs look great with that dress. It's the kind of dress that would go with any coloured tights anyway.

Loving the scallop detail on that coat. Very groovy. Ahh I love that word. I'm going to see how many times I can use it in conversation for the remainder of the day haha

ps: don't know why you say you don't have the legs to pull of short dresses, they are perfectly normal!

Ooh, I love the combination of the scallops with the stripes and the collar on that dress is so cute! It actually looks really great on you :)

That's funny, I just used the word groovy in a comment yesterday, not a word I normally use either, perhaps it's poised for a comeback ;)

That dress is darling, and the scallop edged coat is sublime (makes me want to find/make something similar)! Very cute addition of pink tights - on cute legs, I might add! :)
