I was impressed by the stacks of fabulous antique china at home, that I couldn't resist doing a little photoshoot with them. The shape of the teacups on the bowls in the first photo remind me of floral dresses. Don't you think? The cups are the tops and the bowls are the skirts! :)
All these used to belong to my great grandmother, and my dad inherited them long ago. My dad says that everything was extremely scarce during the war in Indonesia (during his grandmother's days), that dining sets like these were considered valuable. So that's why she included these kind of items as inheritance for her grandchildren. I love that we still use some of them today.
P.S. Apologies for my lack of blog hopping and commenting lately!
27 little notes:
beautiful!
I really need to collect more lovely porcelain/china/tea wear!
And perhaps watercolour paint some??
seeing the first picture that way... yes. it do looks like adorable floral dresses from a fairytale.
Ive also got a lovely collection of antique cup and saucers that had never been used until a few weeks ago when I bought a coffer maker. They are just the right size and are beautiful to use.
Beautiful inheritance.
These are beautiful pieces. I love the shot with the teapot. You should do that vintage photoshoppy thing that everyone is enamoured with lately. I think it would really suit these images. x
lovely pieces !
