puglypixel's vintage sequins + giveaway!

Hi everyone! My name is Katrina from Pugly Pixel. Anna graciously invited me to write a guest post while she's spending time with her family back home. Anna's one of my favorite bloggers of all time and I was thrilled to be asked to contribute.

As I was brainstorming the topic for my post, I was rocking my dog to sleep in my office chair (my Pomeranian is spoiled crazy) and that's when I noticed my collection of rare vintage sequins and then I thought: BINGO. Vintage sequins it is!

I have an extensive collection of rare vintage sequins that date back to the 1920's. Some of the sequins
were imported from Japan, some from France, others from Belgium. These vintage sequins represent an era forever gone.

I bought them a long time ago to make what I like to call, Dandelions. Dandelions are based on high density foam balls. Each stack of sequins is attached with a stainless steel pin capped by a bead.

Dandelions were fun to make but were extremely time-consuming and could take an entire day to complete. That's why I stopped making them.

These days, I like to use my sequins for far simpler projects. Sequins are fun to use as photo embellishments and as style props for photos, among other things.

I'd like to share some of my sequins with you! Leave a comment below and share with us what you love the most about Anna's blog, Much Love.     I love these!

    The thing I love most about this blog is that it's comforting. It's soft and delicate and a place to go to escape from the world. It's like falling into a massive pile of pillows. :)

    Katrina, you sound like a girl after my own heart! I love your collection, the colors are fantastic and I could definately use them as embellsihments for my mixed media. And Anna's blog? I love dropping in here when I'm in need for 'food for the soul'. It's a light,breezy fresh breath of air.

    As crazy as this may be, I remember making what you call, Dandelions every Christmas at my grandmum's, and never having mind turn out quite as lovely as hers! But yours are beautiful!

    anna's got an eye for beautiful things. and she somehow manages to make ordinary things look lovely through her camera lens. her personal style is unique. she doesn't wear what everybody else wears. and, well, reading her blog feels like drinking tea with her in pretty little teacups.

    oh what a treasure you have :) I too love sequins and OMG those dandelions.. I`d love to see more photos of that! They are so pretty! Oh well back to the point, I have to be honest, I`m new here but I find it very cute with lots of lovely pictures I will be back for more :)

    Sequins! My mom made several dandelions a few years ago, especially around Christmas time.

    oooh I love all the pictures of the sequence. I wore a silver sequence dress to my year 10 AND my year 12 formal. Only cost me $100 and I actually got to wear it twice - I thought that was a bit of a score!!

    The thing I love most about Much Love is how inspired I get. I love pictures, beautiful things, colors. Anna always seems to find intriguing pictures to share. I love learning about things I might not have payed attention to otherwise. Even if I don't share the vision, I can find something inspiring - something to love, sparking something in my brain, sending me down a different rabbit hole.
