st kilda shadows

I spent a bit of time at the beach today, and brought along 3 of my cameras (too much?). I was trying out my Holga with black and white film for the first time, but I accidentally had it set on B (which is a no no!!) and didn't realize this until I was 4 shots away from finishing the roll! So most of those photos are pretty much ruined.... Sad face. I'm still wondering if it's even worth developing at all. As if it's not costly enough considering that 120 film only shoots 12-16 frames (in my case, 12). I'm thinking of getting a 35mm Adaptor kit, so I can shoot with my usual 35mm films instead, and get more photos out of 1 roll! Has anyone used one of those kits before? What do you think of it?

Anyway, I also had my DSLR handy to take some shadow shots for today. I love analog, but the instant results (and absence of developing cost!) of digital is handy to have. Go to Hey Harriet to see what Shadow Shot Sunday is all about.

I love these photos! I am sorry you had your camera on the wrong setting :( sometimes you get fun surprises when that happens though! I haven't been to St Kilda since Oct 2010, these photos remind how beautiful it is there! :)

i'd not hesitate to take more pictures if not for the fear of wasting a roll of film!!

I ever used 35mm for my holga, but I didn't use those kits. I made my DIY 35mm adaptor :) I got the tips from youtube hehe

I think using DIY 35mm is so complicated (apaan sih itu ehm ribet hehe), you have to be more patience :D

Beautiful, as always :)

that is so unfortunate about your holga shots, i would have liked to have seen them! (probably not worth the money developing them though...)

Seaside shadows are always so enchanting!

EVEN IN SHADOW

Even in shadow, where there is no light,
One may take comfort and one may delight
That darkness has lost its power to thrall
Those who are living on this earthly ball.

These are cool! Is that your fishing rod Anna? I didn't picture you as a fishing type! Pity about the camera goof. I'd get the film processed anyway. Could still be some gems on there!

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about the Holga setting fiasco! Hopefully some of the shots can be salvaged... you never know. And I hear you on the cost thing. I have a few rolls of film waiting to be developed, but I have no idea when I'll get around to it. These shots from your DSLR are lovely. The color quality is almost reminiscent of film...
