karton

I've been busy getting ready to move soon, and one of the things I've been doing is browsing for new furniture. That's when I stumbled on the clever, quirky and eco-friendly idea that is Karton. Yes, furniture made entirely out of cardboard. Despite the appearance of looking like flimsy paper, it is the complete opposite and is super sturdy. You assemble everything by folding the parts together (no screws! woot!) - and I am seriously excited that this would be like having my own life-sized origami furniture! Now to decide which pieces I want for my new place... Definitely the ram for starters. Definitely.

Awesome! We have a store here in Manila just like that! It's called "Dekahon" which means "made of boxes" :)

I sat one these - a little warily I might add - at a designers market in Adelaide last year. They are great! They certainly make the place look unique and quirky. Good luck with the move!

Oh the sheep/ewe/ram bookshelf is a must for me but I'm dubious about using it as a bed base. I'm sure it really is sturdy and the novelty factor of saying you sleep on cardboard is a great conversation starter though.
