I just saw this video for the first time, and immediately had to share. Natalie Portman features in Paul McCartney's video for his song "My Valentine".

Simply beautiful. Really.

/you gotta make a decision /leave tonight or live and die this way/
I've been loving this cover so so much:

p.s. I still owe you loads of Japan photos, which are coming up soon. Hope you're not tired of them yet.

Travel tip: get a flight that lands during sunset, and make sure you get a window seat. Be prepared for a stunning view!! These photos don't really do the sky colours justice. It was so much more vibrant.

The travel bug has bitten! Camera Obscura said it best:

If you've never seen the movie Once, do yourself a favour and see it. The soundtrack alone is excellent reason enough.

Oh everybody's looking for a fix
- Clean White Love (Lisa Mitchell)

You have no idea how long I've been wanting to post this song on this date because of that piece of lyrics. Tee hee..  *grins*

It's going to be a hot 32C here in Melbourne, so I'm off for a playdate with a friend and cooling frozen yoghurt. What are you upto this weekend? Have a great one! xo

This week's random thoughts/facts:
♥  Just started listening to Sarah Seltmann's album, Heart that's Pounding, and it's making me happy. For example, see above video.
♥  A lady sitting across me on the tram leaned over to look at my polaroid badge I was wearing (3rd one in this post), and complimented me on it. I thanked her and told her "That made my day!" just before hopping off my stop. Random compliments are awesome.
♥  I had a cupcake for lunch today. Because I can.
♥  I like Pip's list of 'Things I Know'.
♥  People and culture fascinate me to no end.
♥  Worrying is exhausting.
♥  A smile can be extremely contagious.
♥ ... unfortunately, so can a cough.
♥  When you don't know what to think, it's probably best not to.
♥  Never trust Melbourne's weather forecast. The day I decided to detach the hood off my jacket and leave my umbrella at home had to be the day it rained.
♥  "Seriously?? It's like you're Photoshopped!!" is the best line from Crazy Stupid Love (in a scene that also involves a shirtless Ryan Gosling. Yeah.).
♥  Life's too short to not wear your favourite vintage outfit more often.
♥  I read better on the train more than anywhere else.
♥  I've been adding cinnamon to my tea because it's good for you (thanks for the tip Diana).

How has your week been, readers? Share some of your random thoughts with me please.

Graffiti in one of Melbourne's laneways.

Also, a splash of some artsy music videos for Tuesday's Tunes. Great music, nonetheless.

Intimate and acoustic performances bring out the sweetest music. Also, Camera Obscura doing an ABBA song? How had I ever missed this coolness?

What music have you been listening to? Recommend something to me!

I've been listening to the music of Charlotte Gainsbourg (who you may have seen in the quirky movie The Science of Sleep, and the more recent Melancholia) after getting my hands on her CD, IRM.

This song is one of my favourites (warning: it will have you nananana-ing along in no time)

Some dudes for this Tuesday's tunes. Enjoy.

This song and video will put a grin on your face:

The song in that delightful video is Song in My Head By Emma Wallace, from her album Temptation (which I honestly love, and this is one of my favourite songs on it!). Emma is not only super talented, she is also one of the sweetest bloggers I know, so I thought it would be fun to feature her with this quick interview so we can all get to know her even better.

5 Things I'd Like People to Know About Me:
1. I love sleeping in! Now that I have a six-month-old, I'm not quite able to do that (up at six today!) but I still think of it fondly!
2. I adore, collect and voraciously read children's literature.
3. I don't like onions or beans - no matter how beautifully they're prepared. But I like pretty much everything else. Just in case you invite me to dinner...
4. I'm a total wimp when it comes to bad news and sad movies! Comedies and kids' movies only, please.
5. My dream vacation destinations are Reykjavik, Limerick, Ireland, Novia Scotia, Vietnam and Hawaii

5 Things on My To-Do List:
1. My newest album - a collection of lullabies and gentle love songs
2. Organize my clothes! I used my normal clothes as maternity clothes last year so a ton of them are all stretched out and I want some new ones but I won't let myself buy some until I weed out the old ones.
3. Finish crocheting my baby's blanket.
4. Get my songs on sheet music
5. Take my kitty in for her check-up

5 Words to Describe My Music:
1. Piano
2. Happy
3. Jazzy
4. Vintage-inspired
5. Irreverent

5 7 Favorite Movies (because 5 just isn't enough!):
1. It Happened One Night
2. Jungle Book
3. Monsters, Inc.
4. Beauty and the Beast
5. Music and Lyrics
6. Amelie
7. Tangled

5 Things I 'Much Love':
1. My baby
2. Tea
3. Spice bread
4. Stationery
5. Music of Sting, George Michael, Cole Porter, Harry Connick, jr, Saint-Saens and Emily Loizeau (a ton others too, but these are top!)

Thank you Emma!!

Go to Emma's blog to check out her Song Sketches, and listen to bits of her upcoming lullaby album.
