celebrating.. my birthday yesterday, with a sweet little birthday picnic. Birthdays are a funny thing. No matter how much I try to wave it off as no big deal, there's going to be some amount of expectation and pressure to get it right, memorable and happy. I admit I'm not crazy about turning two-nine (only one more year of saying I'm 20-something!). I also try not to read too much into the fact that the amount of people around me have dwindled down compared to last year's birthday, as have the fb messages. Popularity is not my thing, that's for sure... but that's okay. At the end of the day, I am glad that I got to celebrate the way I did, and I got to spend the day with 3 superbly good friends who don't mind my odd quirks and obsessive film photo taking (surely it gets annoying to have someone take your drink away because they want to take a photo of your straw! What? It's true!). It was in fact memorable and happy.

Snippets from around the day:
thrifting.. vintage plates and floral sheets
pinning.. picnic inspirations on pinterest
colouring... yellow (a bit of a theme of the picnic)
hanging... paper pompoms and garlands
eating... yellow rice, tofu, fairy bread, orange poppyseed cake, brownies - we were ready to explode by the end.
drinking... apple cider
using up... expired polaroid films that's been sitting in my camera for over 3 years!
playing... badminton and boggle
reading... Miranda Hart's Is It Just Me?(awesome birthday present)

I've been really bad at updating my Etsy shop for these past few month, but I've finally added a brand new range of items yesterday. These are some pinback buttons (badges) featuring some of my favourite polaroid photos. Just like an actual polaroid photo, there is only one of each unique button. Prints of the photos are also available in the shop.

I've never made anything like these before, so would love to know what you think! I have a few more square photo buttons that will be listed soon.

I've added these polaroid prints to the Much Love Etsy shop.

Speaking of Etsy shops, I've decided to open a 2nd one: Much Love Designs. At the moment, it has premade banners (which can be used for either Etsy shops or blogs), but perhaps there will be more graphic design related stuff in the future. As if that's not enough, a THIRD Etsy shop is well on it's way too. I won't give you the details about that one yet, but all I can say is it's a collaboration and I'm very excited about it! I'm still not sure if having all these shops all of a sudden is the best idea, but what better way to find out than to actually do it, right? At least if I find out it's a mistake, I'll get to learn from it.

My first birthday presents came early this year, and they are from the very creative and lovely French girl, Stéphanie. I spotted her beautifully hand-stitched felt "polaroids" on her blog not too long ago, and she so generously sent one especially for me! It is, as they say... très magnifique! She also sent an adorable "Anna" badge. Too cute!

Sadly, as you may have noticed, Stéphanie decided to end her blog last week. I'm not sure how many of you had been reading her blog too, but it was definitely one of my daily favourites, and I will miss it so. Seeing an end of a favourite blog is like saying goodbye to a dear friend (see my last post, point 5).

Merci Stéphanie. Bisous! :)
