bring in the sunshine

It was Melbourne's first day of Autumn yesterday, and mother nature was right on schedule in turning down the thermostat. I've never been a big fan of the cold, so no, I'm not exactly looking forward to it getting even colder in the coming months, let alone winter.
Well, it seems like a good time to get my knitting needles out and start working on a cozy warm scarf!

P.S. Yes, I'm well aware that a lot (maybe most) of my readers are in the northern hemisphere where it's even colder right now. Has Spring arrived for you yet?

Today, we did have sunshine and warmer temperatures in upstate NY, USA! Alas, the normal weather will return with gusto tomorrow. We tend to feast or famine this time of year, very unpredictable. Your photos are lovely, thanks for sharing.

I think the first two days of Autumn here in Brisbane have been more summery than summer itself!

I'm in Melbourne too, and it sure was freezing! Also, I love the last photo in your post! (I think it's the sun streaks!)

It's slowly getting spring over here in Germany... after we've had freezing temperatures since November a bit of sunshine is very welcome.

Though I'm not a big fan of cold temperatures I love it that we have real seasons and now I'm looking forward to spring...
Enjoy the first days of autumn!

I'm in Scotland and the last few days have been very, very cold but so beautifully sunny that it hasn't mattered. Spring flowers are starting to appear.

It already snowed this morning; it seems like winter will never end (but it will).
I get through winter (something I did not experience as a child) by decorating my flat with ornaments, making hot cocoa with homemade marshmallows and essential oils like fir, orange, cinnamon, etc. I try to make it so that I will miss it when it's gone (but I really prefer spring).
Sending warm wishes, even if it is cold!

it's so interesting to hear about another part of the world where the temperatures are so different..the thought of somewhere welcoming autumn as we welcome spring.
exactly the opposite process is happening here, spring is arriving. it is still cold but it's gradually getting sunnier and warmer.
(I'm in England by the way!

*singing* so let the sunshine in..

You know how it is in our part of the world dear, I mean, our hometown.. It's raining and it's suddenly sunny again.

Oh goodness, those photos are magical. I've already paid a visit to the photographer's Flickr via the link you provided.

Spring arrives this month - yay! We have a saying here that goes: "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb." It's been verrrrry cold here the last few days, so I'm hoping the warmer, gentler days of spring hurry up and get here soon.
